Gibson Les Paul Custom 1990 owned by James Dean Bradfield Manic Street Preachers
A unique opportunity to purchase a heavily used guitar owned by James himself …it’s a 1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom 3 pickup (very rare) in Alpine White. James bought it from a guitar store in Chicago at the tail end of the 2000’s primarily as a ‘back up’ for his original 2 pickup white Les Paul Custom that he has had since the earliest days.
It was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA on June 13th, 1990, Production Number: 6”
It has been toured pretty much consistently since then and has seen lots of ‘live’ use. It has also been utilised in the studio quite a bit, mainly just after he got it on the recording of the “Postcards From A Young Man” LP that was released in September 2010. As you can see this guitar was used on quite a few songs on it.
Around the same time, James was featured on the front cover of ‘Guitarist’ magazine with an interview inside. It is an honour to be on the cover of such a prestigious publication and James chose this guitar to be photographed with. A copy of that magazine comes with the sale.
Overall the guitar & case are in very good condition, no neck breaks or serious dents/dings. He has added a French influenced sticker to the guitar since the Guitarist pictures were taken as a tribute to his French wife … very personal and cool!
It will come with a signed dedicated picture of James with the guitar, the Guitarist magazine and a band signed CD or LP (whatever is to hand at the time)
As mentioned the guitar will be available shortly as he is currently using it to record their latest album, adding even more kudos.
